Just Carry On

I saw a mysterious unnamed song file lurking on my computer desktop. What’s that? I played it and it turned out to be a song idea I had recorded but had completely forgotten about. So, I finished the song. The words are just stream of consciousness stuff. I think maybe having to do with current times. Not too much you can do about some things, so you just carry on.

Just Carry On
Written by Billy Carl Mancini, Published by Bonk Zone Music, ASCAP ©2021
What is a day, what is an hour?
What is the clock up on the tower
Saying, praying
No time to think, no time to sleep
Into the night our dreams will creep
Playing something…
Waiting just in front of us
There must be someone to trust
There must be a place we belong
But until that day has come
And until the song is sung
You and I will just carry on...
In a song
With every night there is a dawn
With every thought there is a song
Singing, ringing
It’s not the past that we belong
It’s not the right, it’s not the wrong
Calling, falling
Waiting just in front of us
There must be someone to trust
There must be a place we belong
But until that day has come
And until the song is sung
You and I will just carry on...
It’s not the black, it’s not the white
It’s not the fear, it’s not the fright
Healing, screaming
Give us the time, give us the light
Give us the power to make it right
Feeling, believing…
Waiting just in front of us
There must be someone to trust
There must be a place we belong
But until that day has come
And until the song is sung
You and I will just carry on...
Carry on...in a song
